By now, you've probably heard that Ennis Congressman Joe Barton apologized to BP for being asked to do the unthinkable: actually pay to clean up the mess they made in the Gulf of Mexico. Well, Michael Burgess agrees with his Big-Oil-loving colleague Joe Barton--and he's taken to the airwaves and print media to defend BP and Barton!
This is all very ironic, and shows North Texans that Burgess' recent half-hearted attempts to show some kind of action on the behalf of citizens in DISH and elsewhere in the Barnett Shale who have been fighting with oil and gas companies over pollution for years is nothing more than an election-year conversion from a Congressman who has taken thousands of dollars from Big Oil and continues to do their bidding.
It's time to put a stop to this. It's time to send Michael Burgess the message that North Texans are tired of his brand of do-nothing, big oil defending leadership. Your contribution to my campaign will help make that happen.
When I'm your Congressman, you'll never have to worry about me defending irresponsible companies like British Petroleum. I'll defend you.
